How to use sticky notes efficiently

2022-02-25
What do we do when we have a problem or need to achieve a goal? Many people will only have a simple answer: think, do. But after thinking about it in my mind, writing over and over in the notebook, and knocking over and over on the computer, it was still chaotic. With some practice, the following steps can be taken:
Step1: Preparation: Black, blue, and red tri-color whiteboard pens and a simple whiteboard. It is enough to prepare three colors of whiteboard pens (note that they are not markers, otherwise they cannot be wiped). If you've read books like The Pyramid Principle or Structural Thinking, you'll understand that when it comes to structured thinking, the rule of thirds at each level is the easiest and most reasonable. Including the mind map from the trunk to the branch, generally speaking, it is better to divide into three to five branches (up to seven). If there are too many branches, you need to reflect on whether there is a missing node between the branch and the trunk. There are two ways to achieve this whiteboard: one is to buy a whiteboard directly, the other is simple but very convenient, that is, buy a whiteboard film, cut it to an appropriate size and stick it on the wall or a relatively large desktop superior. Friends who are interested in graffiti and visual thinking can consider buying one. Not only can they be used at home, but children also like it.
Step2: Write down your question (objective or topic). For example, what if there is not enough time? In response to this problem, what aspects do you hope to solve, or what goals need to be achieved. Use keywords to express these aspects as much as possible, instead of using one sentence, list them all. There are many ways to list specifically, such as 5W1H, six hat thinking method, etc. This can be practiced slowly according to everyone's ideas. Three aspects are set: 1. Focus on efficiency; 2. Reasonable distribution; 3. Combination of work and rest
Step4: Start brainstorming according to each requirement, and write the specific solution on the post-it note. This method can be imaginative, without considering the actual constraints of the individual. For example, in Focus and Efficiency, he wrote "don't look at the phone", "Pomodoro", etc.; in Reasonable allocation, he wrote "morning time period", "time record", etc.; "Strengthening Exercise" etc.
Step5: Don't write all the ideas in the post-it note at once. It would be better if a few people could come up with ideas (unfortunately it is their own problem, others may not understand it), but each person is in a different state in different time periods, so you can spend a few days to think about solutions and write them separately Go up, and when you feel that you are almost there, you can consult the opinions of the people around you and make some supplements.

Step6: Establish four quadrants, the vertical axis is the effect, and the horizontal axis is the feasibility. Score and place the measures on these sticky notes according to the feasibility and the effect achieved in your mind. Both can be taken into account, and the one with the higher double score will naturally be adopted first. In the end, all that remains is to put it into practice and test the effect. If deviations are found in practice, it is necessary to correct specific practices, which will have unexpected results.
